Described by his peers as “modest, honest and yet powerful”, his expeditions to one of the World’s last unconquered places earned him the respect of some of the most famous names of Polar exploration: Scott, Shackelton, Wilson, Lashly, Evans & Wild. His journey to rescue his comrades Teddy Evans and William Lashly was described by historians as “the finest feat of individual heroism from the entire age of exploration”.

Crean was awarded the Albert Medal, the highest award for gallantry.

This ‘Tom Crean’ inspired sweater is our tribute to him.
